Wasabi Salmon
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb (675 g) salmon fillet, in one piece, skin removed
- 2 tsp (10 mL) wasabi paste OR powder
- 2 tsp (10 mL) low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tsp (10 mL) rice vinegar
- 2 tsp (10 mL) minced fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) dark brown sugar
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425 F (215 C). Line an 8-inch (20-cm) square pan with parchment paper or foil.
- Place salmon in the pan. In a small bowl, mix together wasabi paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, fresh ginger and brown sugar. Reserve 2 tsp (10 mL) of the mixture.
- Pour remaining sauce over the fish. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until just done.
- When cooked, pour the reserved wasabi sauce over fish. Serve with rice.
